Financial Accountant at Public Sector Plc  

Public Sector Plc is looking to recruit a financial accountant to join an established team, reporting to the financial controller.  The successful candidate may be part qualified and seeking to complete their training at Public Sector Plc or may be an accountant with several years’ experience.   

The role 

  • Lead the preparation of monthly corporate and partnership management accounts 
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements 
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and variance analysis  
  • Support the preparation of monthly reports for partners and the board 
  • Prepare monthly journal postings 
  • Provide documentation and support for external audits 
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Analyse bank statements and prepare bank reconciliations 
  • Oversee the purchase ledger and work with the finance assistant on accounts payable matters 
  • Oversee weekly payments and check employee expense claims and process with support from the finance assistant 

About you   

  • At least two years’ experience working as a financial accountant or management accountant
  • Experience working with NetSuite accounting software
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyse accounting information
  • Ability to communicate well with external partners and senior management; conscientious; attention to detailable to work organise own workload. 

Beneficial Experience (not essential) 

  • Experience working at property related business, such as a property manager, property investor or property developer 
  • Experience performing advance functions in NetSuite accounting software, such as building new template reports  


  • Up to £40,000 annual salary (dependent on experience and qualifications)
