Relationship Manager

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Partnerships and Communications Director, the UK wide Relationship Manager role has been created with the primary responsibility to develop new public sector and housing association relationships and secure new customers for the Public Sector Plc partnership and property advisory / consultancy services.

The postholder will be expected to have:

  • 3 years’ experience in a business development role, ideally within the public sector and/or a property consultancy company.
  • Outstanding networking skills is a must have combined with a proactive and focussed outlook to represent the brand and business.
  • Experience of pipeline management and prioritisation, from identification, acquisition to conversion.
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple layers including senior officers, managers and C-level contacts.
  • Data driven thinking. Strong analytical skills and know how to apply judgement to quantitative as well as qualitative evidence when making decisions.
  • Ability to identify target audiences and devise approaches that engage, inform and motivate purchasing behaviours.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in creating and delivering presentations to both small and large groups and be keen to step-up / train to deliver public speaking.
  • Undertake further tasks as reasonably required by management within the overall remit of this role.
  • A professional, approachable and collaborative manner, with the ability to build rapport with target audiences within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Primary responsibility to develop new public sector and housing association relationships to secure the delivery of the PSP offer and services to new customers across the UK.
  • Become an ambassador for the PSP partnership model and property advisory services.
  • Managing the public sector tender/framework processes and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Representing the company at exhibitions, events and conferences.
  • Identifying, investigating and reporting competitor information in order to improve the Company’s intelligence within key market sectors.
  • Taking the lead on a company-wide CRM system, proactively using and managing the database and checking for accuracy.
  • Working with the PSP Directors to ensure technical expertise is engaged at the appropriate time to deliver the highest partner / customer experience and aid optimum pipeline conversions.
  • Working with the Marketing Brand Manager to present the PSP offer and service to customers via relevant, dynamic and engaging marketing materials.

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience of working in or closely with the UK public sector.
  • Experience of lead generation and prospect creation to convert into new business and income.
  • Experience in a business development role for a property consultancy or advisory business.
  • An understanding of property development, in a broad sense, with an enthusiasm for the socio-economic benefits regeneration and development can bring to communities.
  • Experience of managing databases and CRM platforms to monitor and report to the wider business.
  • Dealing efficiently with a wide range of stakeholders to build sustainable relationships and new business in the short and long term.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with clients across the UK with insight into the regional trends and characteristics.
  • Experience of presenting to external audiences on technical, product or business topics.

  • Ability to work flexibly with regard to travelling to different locations across the UK.
  • Experience of managing frameworks or bid submissions to support new project opportunities.
